The Texas longhorn is known for its friendly nature, good memory and intelligence. Like Fast Park’s dependable service, covered parking and climate-controlled shuttles, this majestic animal isn’t fazed by sweltering heat or cold and rainy conditions.
A Uniquely Austin Airport Parking Experience
Fast Park & Relax, a leader in near-airport parking with 17 locations serving some of the nation’s busiest airports, brought its hospitality-centric service model of airport parking and ground transportation to Austin in 2002. Five years later, Fast Park fenced the pastures to the east and west of its 4,800-space covered parking facility and began raising six Texas longhorn cattle – ranging from two to six years old – in the two pastures totaling 74 acres.
In 2011, Fast Park leadership teamed up with the Future Farmers of America club at Del Valle High School, Callahan’s General Store and veterinarian Dr. Bill Selman to launch a program to educate and build public awareness on how to raise and care for longhorn cattle.
Today, Fast Parks pastures are home to 14 longhorns, including four, three-year-old “young” steers. Only in Austin can you park your car before heading out of town and get a front-row view of Texas pride in its purest form – the legendary longhorn.
Embracing its Unofficial Mascot
While consistency is key to maintaining the integrity of any brand, Fast Park has gone rogue in Austin as it embraces its role as a local destination for longhorn viewing. Fast Park’s fleet of recognizable shuttles, which feature larger-than-life images of travelers relaxing, were upgraded in June of 2025 to include a herd of longhorn-adorned shuttles. The herd was officially let loose to “roam” ABIA airport and can now be spotted day and night on the airport roadways and scattered throughout ground transportation. It’s so Texas!
Fast Park & Relax has become a landmark of local pride and a snapshot of true Texas spirit, fittingly located on Spirit of Texas Drive, just north of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).
